Dano je bežec na dlhé trate a mal to šťastie, že už ako fagan vedel, čo chce. Jeho poslaním je maľovanie a za touto métou kráčal vždy zľahka, ale odhodlane. Poznáme sa od detstva. Bývali sme v jednej bytovke a dodnes mám pred očami naše pivnice, ktoré v mexickej predtuche ozvláštnil ako Siqueiros portrétmi miestnych kulturistov. Bol oveľa talentovanejší ako oni a som rád, že časť tejto monumentálnej maľby ešte stále existuje. Portrétoval množstvo susedov a známych a pamätám si aj zopár vydarených variantov nitrianskeho hradu, ktorý sme mali na dohľad. Rodičia jeho vášeň tolerovali a podporovali, ale hádam najväčším a najtrvalejším vplyvom bola Galéria Františka Studeného, ktorú neustále navštevoval. Ambicióznosť a vytrvalosť mu ostala doteraz. Pre každého človeka a umelca obzvlášť je dôležitá sila koreňov. Dano patrí k tvorcom, ktorí majú úctu k návratu, vedia pracovať so spomienkami a nezabúdajú v čase úspechu ani na dni a miesta, kde začínali. Ako výtvarník má prirodzený vzťah k starým historickým budovám a rád sa podieľa na ich premenách a nadčasových metamorfózach. Zvlášť si obľúbil Kaštieľ v Mojmírovciach, nielen ako národnú kultúrnu pamiatku, ale predovšetkým ako miesto umeleckých stretnutí. Je jedným zo spoluzakladateľov Medzinárodného maliarskeho plenéra, venovaného pamiatke Cyrila a Metoda. Uskutočnilo sa už jedenásť ročníkov za účasti niekoľkých stoviek umelcov z desiatok krajín celého sveta. Zaujímavá diplomová práca Daniela Bidelnicu zdobí tiež jeden zo salónov Kaštieľa. Moderné variácie na loveckú tému tvoria kontrast ku klasicky poňatému poľovnému salónu. Danov neobvyklý cit pre farebné videnie sa prejavil v nekonvenčnom maľovaní na rôzne prvky vonkajšej architektúry v rámci objektu, čím prispieva k pôvodnej myšlienke zakladateľov Kaštieľa, chápať ho ako kompaktné umelecké dielo. Historické je dopĺňané súčasným, klasicistické premostené moderným. Som presvedčený, že Dano profesionálne neustále rastie aj vďaka daru chápať potreby spoločnosti a prostredia, v ktorom pracuje. Sebecky mu žičím, aby dlhovekosť, ktorú má v génoch, priniesla ešte veľa inšpirácie a tá potom obohatila aj nás.

Dano is a long-distance runner. He was lucky enough to know what he wanted to do when he was a boy. His mission is painting; he has always pursed his aim with ease and determination. I have known Dano since my childhood; we lived in the same block of flats and I can still remember the cellars which he decorated, in the anticipation of Mexico, like Siqueiros, with large portraits of local body-builders. He was more talented than the rest of them and I am glad that a part of this monumental work still exists. He painted a large number of portraits of our neighbours and acquaintances and I also remember a few nice variants of the Nitra Castle which was within sight. His parents tolerated and supported his passion, and he often visited the František Studený Gallery which had a lasting influence on him. He was ambitious and persistent, his characteristic qualities even today. The roots of one’s origin are important for every person, but they are particularly significant for an artist. Dano is one of those artists who pay respect to recollections, know how to refresh memories and remember the days and places where they started before they achieved success. As an artist he naturally has a close relationship to historic buildings and is pleased to take his share in their transformations in time. He has taken a special liking for the manor-house in Mojmírovce not only as part of our national cultural heritage but also as the meeting place of artists. He is one of the co-founders of the International Plein Air Painting, dedicated to the memory of Cyril and Methodius. Altogether eleven symposia have been held there, attended by hundreds of painters from many countries from all over the world. His interesting final project decorates one of the drawing rooms of the manor-house. Modern variations on the hunting theme provide an excellent contrast with a traditionally decorated hunting lounge. Dano’s unusual feeling for colour vision was manifested in his unconventional painting of parts the manor-house, which enhances the original idea of its founders to understand it as a compact work of art. Historical is complemented with contemporary, classicist is bridged with modern. I am convinced that Dano steadily develops as an artist also because he has a gift for understanding the needs of society and the environment in which he works. May the longevity coded in his genes bring him a wealth of artistic inspiration which will have an enriching effect on us.
